About Brian
Brian Evans is a nationally published author, former KKNW radio host, CPA and Personal Financial Specialist. Most recently, Evans rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange celebrating the launch of his three broad-market Exchange-Traded Funds. Created with the use of his pioneering Valuation Model, these funds have gained notice by industry staples such as: Barron’s, ETF Database, and Zack’s Investment Research. His expertise in the bond market was also featured in live appearances broadcasted on CNBC and the Fox Business Network.
Evans began his career in accounting and has been a CPA since 1986. He is the owner of Bauer Evans, Inc. P.S., a CPA firm of 16 accountants managing approximately 3,500 clients. In 1999, Evans founded Madrona Financial Services, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor that offers comprehensive global investment services and currently manages more than $130 million in assets.
Even as a successful professional, Evans continues to challenge himself and the status quo. In 2002, he became a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), an advanced financial planning credential reserved only for CPAs. Evans' asset allocation strategy became nationally published in 2005 when he wrote a chapter in the Black Book On Personal Finance™. He then continued to broaden his horizons by hosting “On the Money,” a 13-part weekly radio show on KKNW 1150, Seattle, WA.
His dedication to the financial field was especially exemplified in June 2011 when Evans launched the Madrona Funds on the New York Stock Exchange. As a portfolio strategist, he became frustrated with the traditional market capitalization philosophy and in 2010, using his accounting acumen and research techniques, Evans’ innovation produced the Valuation Model, a more effective method of valuing securities based on the present value of future expected net profits relative to price. Evans is the lead portfolio manager and investment strategist of these funds and he is especially excited to offer his clients an enhanced index methodology for use in their investment portfolios. Evans graduated Summa Cum Laude from Washington State University in 1984, where he majored in Accounting.
